Emmy Dunn is a self-publishing concierge, digital systems specialist, and the creator of the SoulWord Story Method™, a writing process that starts with one emotionally charged word and guides you, step by step, from raw feeling to meaningful narrative. Her work lives at the intersection of story, technology, and publishing, helping people not only write their stories but share them with the world, whether through a book, a digital platform, or both. Emmy did not grow up thinking of herself as a writer. Writing found her later in life when she needed it most. Her first book, Hope in the Darkness, was a memoir she almost did not write. It is the story of love, loss, adoption, and grief told from the perspective of a birthmother navigating the slow unraveling of who she thought she had to be. When she finished it, something she had been carrying for years began to move. That was the moment she understood that writing is not just an act of creation. It is an act of survival, of processing, of finally giving the hardest parts of your life somewhere to live outside of you. Since that first book, Emmy has published 13 titles across memoir, fiction, and children's books, every single one independently, without a publisher, without an agent, and without anyone showing her the way. She figured it out because she had to. And now she teaches it because she knows what it feels like to have a story that will not leave you alone until you finally write it down.
